When Lisa approached Stephen about opening a custom design cake business, Stephen would have you believe that he was less than skeptical. But as all good husbands' do, he agreed and it proved to an excellent choice. Sweet Lisa's Exquisite Cakes was born in April 1993 and they haven't looked back since. Starting in a tiny place in downtown Greenwich, they quickly outgrew it and three years later they moved to their current location, a converted house in the Cos Cob section of Greenwich, just minutes from the NY/CT border. It's a cozy, cool place with a fireplace, comfy sofas and chairs and tons of sample creations and books of their designs in the living room where they brainstorm with clients. Their kitchen and designing room is also cozy. Lisa is the baking queen and Stephen is the design guru. In addition, they have a wonderful support staff that helps product the finest, tastiest cakes and cookies around. They say the proof of the baking is in the eating, or something like that. In our case it's also in the attention we've drawn for our work. Sweet Lisa's has appeared in dozens of local and national magazines and newspapers, won many local and regional awards and have made many local and national television appearances. It's a testament to their continued success and loyal clientele that they have been fortunate to be featured in so many media outlets.
