Mike & Miguel's Fish & Plant Store

About

Discus America Inc., now Mike & Miguel's Fish & Plant Store — It began as a small facility with just a few tanks and a big dream: bringing discus to the United States. Our aim was to breed, distribute, and sell high-quality discus to hobbyists across the country. Founded ten years ago in Las Vegas by Mike, a devoted discus enthusiast, the company was created after he couldn't find good discus locally and wanted a reliable place where others could purchase healthy, beautiful fish at fair prices.Mike began building our holding facility in 2015 with the help of his father, Yanko, and soon started importing discus from Asia. Over time the facility gradually expanded, and with it Mike’s aspirations and vision for the operation grew as well. In the summer of 2016 he met fellow hobbyist Miguel Torres, who came by seeking discus and was quickly impressed by the breadth and high quality of Mike’s stock. Miguel returned repeatedly, not only to add more fish to his collection but also because he admired the care and craftsmanship evident in Mike’s state-of-the-art holding facility. Sharing a deep passion for the hobby, Miguel and Mike formed a friendship that developed naturally into a close business partnership shortly thereafter. In the summer of 2017, Miguel, Mike, and Yanko began building their first Discus America storefront. Their vision was an elegant aquarium gallery where they could showcase their stunning discus and share their passion, while providing a welcoming, comfortable
